THE ARMOUR OF GOD by Maria Hebga
God loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus to tell you who you are and what life is all about. (John 3:16)
Jesus is THE Way, his words are THE Truth and ONLY HE can give you eternal life. (John 14:6) Don’t believe me? Ask him yourself. He hears you. He always hears you.
The Bible also teaches us that Jesus wants to give you a better life, but that we must be careful because we have an invisible enemy. (John 10:10)
The Bible calls this enemy: Satan who comes to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10).
The enemy stays in the hidden to better trick, manipulate and control the minds of the people.
The enemy wants to steal your joy, peace and the plan God has for your life.
The enemy wants to destroy your efforts, projects, relationships and family.
And finally the enemy wants to kill you either suddenly or slowly.
Why?
Because he hates you. You were made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and he hates God. (2 Corinthians 4:4).
We can not fight an invisible enemy by ourselves. We need Jesus. Your mind is the first place that will be under attack.
A picture is worth a thousand words; that’s why Jesus gives us the metaphor of an armour to teach us how to fight and protect ourselves.
We must put on the armour of God (Ephesians 6:11).
Ephesians 6:12-17
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.
In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
THE HELMET OF SALVATION
Put on the mind of Christ. Resist the devil trying to invade your thoughts.
THE SHIELD OF FAITH
Your FAITH in God is a shield. It will help you to be balanced and at peace in all circumstances.
THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Do the RIGHT thing in God’s eyes. Ask God to align your thoughts, words and actions according to His perfect plan for your life.
THE BELT OF TRUTH
Jesus is the way, the TRUTH and the life. (John 14:6 ) ” “The TRUTH shall set you free.” (John 8:32)
Read and pray with your Bible on a regular basis:
– to get fed spiritually.
– to know how to walk the earth.
– to maintain a true friendship with Jesus.
THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
(Matthew 4:4) Men shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
How did Jesus defeat Satan in the wilderness? By quoting the scriptures.
The Bible is the living word of God. Read and meditate on it. It is a lethal weapon against Satan’s attacks and knowing his strategies.
